David W. Page, 60, of Rushville, MO, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 2, 2010 at his home.

David was born on March 21, 1950 in Atchison, the son of William and Elsie (Woolston) Page.

David graduated from West Platte High School in Weston, MO and from Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO, with a Bachelors degree in Science Technology and an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering. David was a farmer all of his life in the Rushville area and sold insurance for Farmer's Mutual Hail Insurance Company. The David Page family was the first family chosen as Platte County Farm Family of the Year by the Farm Bureau.

David had served as Past Master and was currently the secretary for Rushville Masonic Lodge #238. He was a member of the Moila Shrine Temple in St. Joseph and was very active in transporting children to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. David had been a member of the Farmers Co-op Association, Sugar Creek Cemetery Board, and a former Vice-President of the Sugar Creek Levy Board. He enjoyed reading and especially spending time with his grandson, Thatcher.

David and Sharon Gawatz were married on February 16, 1974 in St. Joseph, MO. Sharon survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Bill Page and his wife, Joni, of Tonganoxie, KS; a daughter Sarah Page of Overland Park, KS; a grandson, Thatcher Page; a brother, Roger Page of Rushville, MO; a sister, Janet Pool and her husband, Allan, of Indianapolis, IN; and three nieces.

Funeral and Masonic Lodge Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in honor of David are suggested to the Shriner's Children Hospital or American Heart Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
