Effie Mae Howard Whitham, 76, of Columbus died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her home. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010 at Parkhill Cemetery with Jeremy Craft officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA. Mrs. Whitham was born November 20, 1933 in Hamilton, GA daughter of the late Blannie Lee Railey and George Quinton Howard. She had worked in the Cotton Mills for 17 years as an inspector. She was a member of Weems Road Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her family, liked to play bingo and watch wrestling. She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew Whitham and brothers Raymond and George Howard. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Diane Webb (Charles) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Greg T. Colvin, Sr. (Connie) of Columbus, GA, Steven M. Colvin (Cheryl) of Phenix City, AL, Brenda Gail Craft (Billy) of Columbus, GA; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
