He was born and raised in New York City with older brother Larry, who died in 1973. A GI Bill-graduate of New York University, Wil left behind a career in advertising in Manhattan in 1957 to go into business with his father, an architect, in Homestead. He became a licensed general contractor and devoted the next 40-plus years to residential and industrial property development, most as president of Ronson Development, but he also worked as assistant director of Coral Gables Building & Zoning and as a project manager for First Nationwide Bank.
He will be remembered as a caring man who loved learning and relished teaching, and had tremendous pride in his family and their individual accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Natalie, his children Michael & Beth Aaronson, Jill & Martin Hershbein, and Cindy & Stan Arkow; his grandchildren Daniel & Rachel, Ben & Heidi, and Jon Aaronson; Brad, Stacy and Lara Hershbein; Michelle & David Arkow; and 2-month-old great-granddaughter Abigail Lily Aaronson. He was also Uncle Wilbur to his brothers children, Arthur (Thiu) and Marilyn Aaronson.
Funeral services are Mon., Aug. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Beth David Congregation, with interment to follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetary.
