Clyde was the son of Leonard Ervin and Florence Loretta Butler Sheffield. He attended Lane and Atoka schools, graduating with the class of 1954. He then attended Murray State College and Southeastern OK State University. He was also a graduate of the Fort Smith Auction School. He married Lenora Arnold on Dec. 2, 1961 at Farris, OK and Margie Matthews on Aug. 27, 1991 at Atoka, OK. He was a lifelong rancher, former Atoka County Sheriff and former owner and auctioneer of Atoka Livestock Auction. He was a land trader and landman leasing minerals. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard for six years. He is survived by his wife, Margie Sheffield of the home; daughters, Jana Henderson and Husband Carl of Atoka, Susan Mofield and husband Bennie of Atoka, OK; Ann Disney and husband Greg of Yukon, OK, Jan Overton and husband Kelly of Flower Mound, TX, and Amy Eberle and husband Bryan of Blue Mound, KS; grandchildren, Stetson, Stormie and Sevans Henderson, Zed Moon, Courtney Cantrell, Jake Disney, Cole, Justin and Gillian Overton and Payton and Paige Eberle; the mother of his children, Lenora Arnold of Farris, OK; sisters, Lennis Frederick of Silo, OK, Dorothy Fink and husband Earl of Owasso, OK and Barbara Broome and husband Gene of Tushka, OK; brothers, Leonard Sheffield and wife Jane of Atoka, OK, Raymond Sheffield and wife Deloris of Wewoka, OK, Curtis Sheffield and wife Mar of Lane, OK, Doyle Sheffield and wife Sharon of Lane, OK, Forrest Sheffield and wife Patsy of Tupelo, MS, Jack Sheffield and wife Lou Ann of Lane, OK and Larry Sheffield and wife Gloria of Lane, OK; uncles, Zeak Sheffield and wife Voda of Lane, OK and Ray Sheffield and wife Josephine of Lane, OK; and his aunt, Ruth Crews and husband Jack of Lane, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lana Sheffield on Jan. 17, 2003. Services will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Atoka, OK. Interment will be at Green Meadows Cemetery with Dr. James Crowson officiating.
