MRS. R. MORSE DIES MONDAY AT AGE OF 86

A funeral service for Mrs. Roy E. (Grace Allard) Morse, an active partner in the Broadway Department Store in downtown Eugene, will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Lounsbury-Musgrove Funeral chapel, Eugene.

Mrs. Morse of 2041 University St., died, Monday at the age of 86. She was born in 1880 at Seneca, Kan. In 1903 she was married to Roy Morse in Washington and graduated from Washington State University in pharmacy two years later.

The couple came to Eugene from Pendleton in 1925 when Morse founded the Broadway store at 30 E. Broadway where it is still located. Mrs. Morse served as an active partner until her death.

Mrs. Morse was a member of th PEO Sisterhood for 50 years and was a charter member of chapters in both The Dalles and Eugene. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Eugene and served on the board of the University of Oregon campus YWCA.

Besides her husband she is survived by a son, Roy M., also a partner in the store, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
