Graduated, Sterling High School, 1933. She attended Peru State College for two years. She was an elementary school teacher until 1943. She was an organist for 31 years, many of which were at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sterling. She was a piano instructor for many years and she taught American Red Cross Survival Classes during World War II. Worked for Miller &Paine doing retail and sales. She had lived in Lincoln since 1955.

Survivors: husband, Ralph; daughter, son-in-law, Kathryn and Jim Stokes, Omaha; grandchildren, spouse, Michael Roehrs, Denver, Timothy and Shannon Roehrs, Henderson, Nev., Laurie Roehrs, San Diego. Preceded in death by parents; brothers,
Herbert Rathe, Orvin Rathe, Dalen Rathe.
