Curtis Drake Jr is the son of Curtis "Kirt" Drake Sr and Theodsia "Theo" Screws. He married Lillie Merel Taylor in 1949. They had 2 children; Stella Louise, Patricia Ann.

Curtis Drake, Jr. served in the U. S. Marine Corps during WW II from 30 Dec 1941 until 12 Jun 1945 and was Honorably discharged as PFC.

DRAKE, Mr. Curtis Jr., aged 37 of 1537 North 20th St., passed away Friday p.m. In Mobile, Ala. Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Drake Sr. of B'ham., 2 sisters, Mrs. Walter S. Sharp of B'ham, Mrs. Curtis Lambert of Mobile; 2 brothers, Roy Drake of B'ham, and Jesse Drake of Fort Hood, Tex. Funeral services to be held Sunday 3 p.m. from Holly Pond Baptist Church, Interment Holly Pond Cemetery. Rev. Asbury Burrell and Rev. Phillips officiating. Cousins will serve as active pall bearers. Remains to lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until time of services. Brown Service, Norwood, directing.
