Allen was born February 14, 1943 in Fairfield, California, to Grant Allen and Anna Boren Adamson. He married Carolyn Bleak on September 23, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Allen, the oldest of five active Adamson boys, grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. Allen served an LDS Mission to Louisville, Kentucky. He studied Civil Engineering at BYU. Allen served in the Army Reserves for many years and had the opportunity to travel the world. Allen had a love for automobiles and motorcycles which he expressed in both his career and personal life.
Allen had a unique love of the outdoors. He particularly enjoyed spending time at family campsites near Strawberry Reservoir and Cedar Fort. He shared these passions generously with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Sandy; four children: Duane (Stephanie) Adamson, of Rexburg, ID, Kristen Adamson, of Sandy, Stacey (Dennis) Hansen, of Riverton, and Nicole Adamson-Elliott, of Draper; nine grandchildren; and four brothers: Larry, Darryl, Kelvin and Jay.
His son, Cory, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Buttercup LDS Chapel, 1600 East Buttercup Drive (10000 South), Sandy where friends may attend a viewing one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
