Maggie was run over and killed instantly crossing McLeod Highway south of Rodessa, Louisiana with her sons, by a 1937 Ford driven by two drinking teens 19 May 1940. None of the boys were injured. Allen and Kenneth had long before died as children. The accident left her husband and five sons; Junior, Jack, J.D., Dalton & Claude.
