Devoted family man and will be dearly missed.

Fred was a winter resident of Charlottesville, VA, and summer resident of Traverse City. Formerly of Southfield and Birmingham.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

He retired in 1992 after 28 years as a plant supervisor for Leggett & Platt. Formerly he was a butcher for Landyt's Market in Grosse Pointe.

Fred was a former parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting pheasant and deer, bowling, and northern Michigan. He was also an accomplished handyman.

Beloved husband of Rose Marie (nee. Trotta) for 59 years. Dearest father of Cheryl D. Pietrzyk (David). Loving grandfather of John Pietrzyk (Agnes), Eric Pietrzyk and great grandson Asher Pietrzyk. Brother of Edward Hutko (Yvette), Stella Gray (the late Andy), John Hutko (Mildred) and the late James Alter (Edna). Brother-in-law of Leonard Trotta (Barbara). Also survived by his granddogs Barney and Jake.

Family received friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile).

Funeral Mass held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 32340 Pierce, Beverly Hills.
