William B Lynn, Born in Va about 1788. He lived in Pittsylvania Co., Va. He worked on a plantion near Richmond. He was said to have a drink every now & then. He married Frances "Fannie" Broadus, . Her parents were against the marriage as they were a relegious, well to do family. They did not approve of gambling or drinking.
There are 6 children but do not know why only 4 are listed on the monument. Adeline, Armanda, Newton J, William Lewis, Lavinia and Emily Lynn.
The exact date of his death is unknown but he sold some land in Nov 11, 1864 to a Postlethweight. He and Fanny are both buried in an unmarked grave in the older section of the cemetery at Crooked Creek.
There were other Lynn families from TN that settled in the southern part of Sheridan and Tolu. It is not known what the relationship was to the Crooked Creek Lynn's. It is rumored to be desended from a brother of William B Lynn.
