My mother, Starrlette Lorraine Smith was an incredible humanitarian and left her indelible mark as such. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and later a Great-Grandmother.

She loved her Heavenly Father, Jesus and her family, friends, neighbors and all her fellow men and women. She shared her love by spending time with everyone who was important to her and those she was unable to see on a daily basis she would send cards and letters to brighten their day and let them know they were on her mind and in her heart.

Mom loved holidays and crafting but her true passion was to write. She wrote multiple short stories, poems, and articles. She was an accomplished Professional Writer and had over 350 publications in numerous magazines, papers, etc. She also had won the Ogden Now History Contest (An essay Contest about the History of Ogden, Utah). She was featured in Bill Boards around Northern Utah as a result.

She eventually got bladder cancer in 1999 and passed away on June 13, 1999. That day many people who loved her will never forget that her bright star that shone inside of her went out and that she really was an angel.
