CENTERFIELD – Mrs. Sophia Larson Childs, 52, died at her home in Los Angeles Friday of dropsy.

She was born at Redmond October 13, 1882, a daughter of Ole C. and Margaret Gregerson Larson. She attended the public schools there and was married there 35 years ago to John E. Childs of Centerfield, who died 22 years ago. Following his death, she went to Los Angeles, where she had been keeping a rooming house until her death.

She is survived by two sons, Elliott and Lonzo Childs, both of Los Angeles; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Michaelson, Salina; Mrs. Margaret McKay, Ocean Park Cal.; Carrie Larson, Missouri; Mrs. Joseph Christensen, Centerfield; five brothers, Thomas, Alma, and Mervin Larson, Redmond; Ole Larson, Centerfield, and Christian Larson, Salina; also 10 grandchildren.

The body will be brought to the home of her sister, Mrs. Joseph Christensen, on Wednesday morning, where friends may call until the funeral services Friday. The time will be announced later. Burial will be in the Gunnison city cemetery under the direction of the Peterson mortuary.
