Mrs. Fortenberry was a native of Haleyville, retired teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church, Haleyville. She served in the American Legion Post 33 Auxiliary and, after her retirement from teaching. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ila Aderholt; her sisters, Eleanor Norris and Junaita Wear; and her husband of 54 years, H.C. Fortenberry.
