Funeral services for Emmett D. Bates, 67, of 1522 S. Buchanan, Amarillo, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday from Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ray Cobb, pastor of the Victory Baptist Church of Stinnett officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery at Stinnett under the direction of Minton Mortuary.

Bates died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at the Veteran's Hospital in Amarillo.

He was born April 22, 1906 in Jones County. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was an Air Force Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two brothers, Clarence Bates of Stinnett, Ralph Bates of Kermit; four sisters, Mrs. E.H. Hennis of Stinnett, Mrs. H.H. Johnson of Amarillo, Mrs. G.W. Denny of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. L.E. Sheets of Dalhart.
