On June 21, 1853, married Mary L. Hastings (born 8/29/1834), adopted daughter of George Hastings, of New York. Edwin was many years in business in New York, of the firms of Wolcott, Wales & Plimpton; Wales & Plimpton, and lastly, George Hastings & Co. He was fairly successful, and retired with a competency in Brooklyn, N. Y.
