Christy A. Ahrens, 69, of 533 Colbert Ave., retired Employee of the Oilwell Supply Division of U.S. Steel Corporation, died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Oil City Hospital following a six-month illness. Born December 13, 1898, in Germany, he was a son of Henry and Freda Kirchner Ahrens. He moved to Oil City in his childhood. His Wife, the former Ella Bender, died February 28, 1950. Mr. Ahrens worked 43 years at Oilwell and was a coremaker when he retired in 1963. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. and Donald P. Ahrens of Oil City; three brothers, Julius Ahrens of Oil City RD, Albert Ahrens of New Bedford and August Ahrens of Struthers, Ohio, and eight grandchildren. Friends may call any time after 7 p.m. today at the Osenider Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Osenider Funeral Home for Christy A Ahrens, 69, of 533 Colbert Ave., retired Oilwell Supply employee. Mr. Ahrens died Tuesday evening in the Oil City Hospital. Rev. Raymond Wyppich, pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Starr Cemetery at Ninevah. Friends may call any time at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
