June Cokley, 72, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, August 19, 1997, at her residence.
Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Bruce Nelson officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of southeastern Illinois.
Cokley was born June 15, 1925, in Webb City, Okla., the daughter of Thomas and Etta (McElroy) Carey. She married Verlin Cokley. He preceded her in death March 19, 1996.
She was retired from the Appliance Plus Store in Olney and from the Sears Store in Olney., She was a member of Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Okla.
She is survived by one son, James Lynn Cokley and his wife Sharon, of Simi Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Muriel Cokley, of Parkersburg; one brother, Brian Carey, of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Nellie McDaniel, of Seminole, Okla.; and two grandchildren, David and Erica.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Mary Kitley.
