FAUDRE – In Reno, December 2, 1937, Mrs. Carrie Faudre, wife of Crockett Faudre of Murphys, Calif.; mother of Mrs. Mildred Brown and Charles F. McMillan of Sonora, Calif., Adam D. McMillan of Leevining, Calif., Archie E. McMillan of Bridgeport, and Dan McMillan of Virginia City; sister of Relefe Borrows of Murphy, Calif., and grandmother of Elwood and Jack Brown of Bridgeport. A native of Missouri, aged seventy-six years…interment in the family plot of the Bodie Cemetery.

On Sunday evening A. E. McMillan, an old resident of Bodie, and who has had charge of the Miners’ Union Hall for a long time, was united in marriage with Carrie Dunlap. The numerous friends of the couple wish them a long era of married happiness and the Free Press hopes they will not be divorced before their oldest child is gray headed.

Archie McMillan, an early day resident of Bodie, where he was prominently known in labor circles and who was at one time Coroner and Public Administrator of this county, died in Sonora last week and was buried there last Wednesday, a son being his only relative present. His family now resides in Bodie.

Mrs. M. J. Holland.

On Wednesday, April 4th, Mrs. C. Faudre received the sad news telling of the death of her sister, Mrs. M. J. Holland, of Murpheys, Calaveras County, California, who passed away on April 1st at the age of eighty-two years.

The deceased lady was an old pioneer of Bodie; going to that famous old mining camp with her sister, Mrs. Faudre, of Masonic, and her father, George Dunlap in 1877; at which time there were only about thirty women in the camp and but few houses. It was there she met, and later married, John Holland, whom many of the old timers will remember in an accident which occurred in the Bodie mine, resulting in the loss to himself of one eye and one hand and injuries to his two companions.

Mr. Holland died five years ago, and his wife, who died April 1st, leaves to mourn her loss, one son, George Holland of Murpheys; one brother, G. H. Dunlap of Ione City; two sisters, Mrs. F. J. Burrows of Murpheys and Mrs. C. Faudre of Masonic, California.
