CARROLL F. ACKER
A funeral service was held Monday, July 13, 1970 at the Lakeville United Church of Christ in Lakeville for Carroll F. Acker of West Main St. who died in Rochester July 10.
Mr. Acker was born in Lakeville Oct. 4, 1885, the son of Francis M. and Libbie Weeks Acker. He attended Livonia High School and Rochester Business Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Acker celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in their home in Dec. of 1964. Mrs Acker predeceased him in Nov. 1969. He was a talented organist and pianist.
During the 55 years he owned and operated the C. F. Acker General Store and was associated with the C. Acker Smith Lumber Yard, he was also a charter member of Lakeville United Church of Christ and served as a trustee and deacon.
He was a 60 year member of the Livonia Masonic Lodge 778 of which he was a past master. He was a past district deputy of Livingston district, a member of the Royal Arch Masons, the Rochester Conservatory and Demascus Temple of the Shrine.
He was a former member of Livonia Rotary Club and had been a director of the Livonia State Bank, the Stewart National Bank and a member of the advisory board of Security Trust Co.
He was a member of Flower City Council of United Commercial Traverlers. He was a charter member of Lakeville Fire Company, Lakeville Sportsman's Club and the Conesus Lake Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith of Lakeville, two grandchildren, Mrs. Walter (Bardee) Nichols and C. Acker Smith, both of Lakeville.
Masonic services were held Sunday evening in charge of Livonia Lodge 778.
Arrangements were made by the Brown Funeral Home in Livonia, with interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo. The Rev. Robert Hathaway officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Lakeville United Church of Christ.
