Murder Victim. The daughter of Dr. A.G. Gargullo of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro province. Merlita was a 1964 graduate of Arellano University school of Nursing, she was an exchange student who came from the Philippine Islands to train at South Chicago hospital for two years. A 23 year old young woman who was strangled and stabbed and found lying next to another slain exchange student Valentina Paison. A memorial mass was held for both exchange students before their bodies were returned to their native land.
