James W. Kaufman Casco Twp. James W. Kaufman, age 65, of Casco Twp., went to be with his Lord on July 19, 2010 with his loving family by his side. Jim was born March 6, 1945 in St. Clair to the late LaVerne and Lida Kaufman. On December 19, 1969 Jim married Pamela T. Zobl in St. Clair. He retired in 2000 after 33 years of employment with Western Southern Life Insurance. Following his retirement he worked for the City of St. Clair. For two years Jim worked at the Pine Shores Golf Course and for the past eight years he maintained the hanging flower baskets throughout the city, watering them daily. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Casco Twp. He was past president of both the church council and Life Underwriters Assoc. of Macomb County. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pamela Kaufman; children: Collene (Scott) Fordt, Christine (Jeffrey) Tomlin, Stacey Kaufman, Stephanie (Brian) Warren, Jennifer (Matthew) Wilson, and Jason James (Stephanie) Kaufman; grandchildren: Justain James, Ryan, Zachary, and Lucas Fordt, Brandyn and Nicolani Militello, Gavin and Travis James Tomlin, Audrey and Allison Miller, Sydney David, Nolan and Dylan James Warren and James Kaufman; siblings: Kathy (Daniel) Liebaert, Sally (Donald) Wonsey, Gloria Wiley, Nancy (Keith) Clement, Harold (Connie) Kaufman, Duane (Becky) Kaufman, and Gary Kaufman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Elmer Osterland, Tim and Bonnie Zobl, Tom and Mary Zobl, Terryl Zobl, Travis Zobl, Alaina and Richard Prior; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Avery; sister, JoAnn Osterland; brother, Donald Kaufman; brother-in-law, Duane Wiley; sister-in-law, Sharon Zobl; and father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Laurence and Lucy Zobl. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Casco Twp. Visiting hours are Wednesday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. and Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to the service.
