Helen Brewton Minshew, 85, of Pensacola entered into the presence of her Heavenly Father on September 10, 2010.
She was born April 05, 1925 in Lockhart, Alabama to the late Arthur and Marguerite Brewton. She spent her life in Northwest Florida, graduating from Pensacola High School in 1943. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Pensacola for over 60 years.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sons, Russ and Ronny.
Helen is survived by her devoted husband, Fermon, with whom she shared a 67 year love affair; daughter, Lisa; son, Don; daughter-in-law, Hila Minshew; two grandchildren, Jan Arnett and Joe Minshew; great granddaughter, Anabelle Arnett; sister, Sarah Wellborn of Gettysburgh, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.
Helen Minshew was a devoted wife and mother who delighted in traveling the globe. She realized a lifelong dream in 2008 when she visited the pyramids of Egypt and took her first camel ride. Her journeys to Ephesus, Greece, and the Isle of Capri were among her favorite excursions.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Dr. John McInnis and Rev. Ross Lankford officiating.
A private interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name to your favorite charity.
