Born in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Neal & Ruby Russell Taylor, Mother grew up in the East Texas oil field where her dad was a pumper for Marathon Oil Co. After graduating from Carlisle High School, she went to Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Belle. She married A. Reed Franklin 28 June 1957 in Carlisle Baptist Church. They moved to Beaumont where they both attended college and she graduated from Lamar Tech with a teaching certificate. She worked for Sun Oil Co there in Beaumont when I was very young. Ramona raised 7 daughters: Deborah Lynn, Sherri Jo, Cynthia Kay, Michele Leigh, Leesa Renee, Denise Dahnelle and Chalease Camille. She & Dad divorced in 1982. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, she eventually died from metastatic disease. Never met a stranger. Beautiful. Missed by all who knew her.
