He fought battles at Aberdeen MS, Corrinth MS, Bakers Creek MS, Vicksburg MS, Lookout Mtn TN & Missionary Ridge TN. He was wounded in the hip at Missionary Ridge TN. He was discharged. He walked with a limp and used a cane to assist him.
