Virginia B. Roshay, 84, of Girard, Kansas, passed away at 12:10 A.M., Sunday, September 12, 2010, in the Heritage Nursing Home of Girard.

Virginia was born November 13, 1925 in Fort Scott, Kansas, a daughter of Mannie Zimmerman and Daisy (Harper) Zimmerman. Virginia attended school in Hepler, Kansas.

On June 21, 1946, Virginia was united in marriage to William Roshay Sr. in Girard; William preceded her in death on October 15, 2001.

Virginia was employed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas and worked in the housekeeping department of the Heritage Nursing Home of Girard and the Sunset Manor Nursing Center of Frontenac, Kansas.

Virginia is survived by one sister: Margaret Ordonez of Osage City Kansas, one Grandson: Wade Johnson and wife Lori of Girard: three great-grandchildren: Shayla, Kamryn and Avery Johnson of Girard and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by one son: William "Bill" Roshay, one brother: Merle Zimmerman, two sisters: Mary Bowin and Mabel Sponsel.

Rosary for Mrs. Roshay will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 14, at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Girard with Fr. Lawrence Carney as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Girard Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Smith-Carson Wall Funeral Home.
