Lester, 90, of Charlotte passed away June 30, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Battle Creek. Lester was born to John and Anna Kelley.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, being honorably discharged in August 1946. In 1948, he married Dorothy Horn and together they raised 3 sons and 3 daughters.
Lester loved to work with his hands and started his own business repairing cars at Farmer''s Garage on Otto Road. He also worked at the Old Country Mill on Otto Road for over 30 years. In his leisure time, he loved fishing (especially at his favorite secret fishing spots), playing cards, and visiting with folks he knew and those he didn''t.
Lester is survived by his children, Ann (Gary Lee) McCune of Charlotte, Duane Kelley of Harrison, Steve Kelley of Mt. Pleasant, Doreen Kelley of Grand Ledge, Yvonne (Harry) Foster of Sunfield; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, and his son Terry.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Pray Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Jones officiating.
