Note: A note I recieved from a Find A Grave contributor says that Williams wife Sara had the last name of Jenks, not Jenkins. Quoted from the Ancestry.com and the California library of pioneer records. Also that they could not find any documentation of Sarah having a first name of Harriet. They think that Harriet may have been William's second wife.
Excerpt from Centennial Family Memories of Paso Robles, California

Letters about his trips to California were published in book form and can be found at the Bancroft Library in Berkeley, California. From Joyce Lombardi.
