Colchester, IL - James William Cordell, 97, of Colchester passed away at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb.
He was born May 24, 1913 in Ferris, the son of Claude T. and Mary Rachel Aiken Cordell. Jim was united in marriage on April 14, 1967 in Macomb to Helen B. Danner, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Lucinda (Grant) Gainey; two grandchildren, Bridgett and Ryan Gainey; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph B. and Richard L. Cordell and one sister, Elma Alice Robinson.
Jim was a lifelong farmer.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery.
