Eugene was a beloved and cherished family man, a respected entrepreneur in his professional and social communities and a man who positively touched the lives of many people with his leadership, wisdom and good humor.
Born in Boston, Mr. Greenwood grew up in Dorchester and Newton and after traveling the world in the Navy for 22 years has for the previous 36 years resided in Lexington with his wife, Sylvia having raised five children together.
A graduate of Newton North High School he received a Bachelor's in Business Management from Northeastern University in Boston. A career military man serving more than 20 years, Mr. Greenwood served with the Navy until his discharge in 1973 at the rank of Lt. Commander. After his military career he founded and grew a boutique advertising firm-Custom Column Service for more than 30 years prior to his retirement.
An avid racer of pigeons, Mr. Greenwood was a top international competitor for many years. He also enjoyed reading and tennis.
Mr. Greenwood is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia P. (Price) Greenwood, four sons, James, Mark, Andrew and Daniel (Dazza), his daughter Julie, and his sister Rosalyn Greenwood Geffen. Burial with full military honors will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
