OBITUARY

Miss Johnney FULLER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. FULLER, of Canadian, who was critically injured at Pampa when she was struck by a freight train while waiting at the depot to board the east-bound passenger train to return to Canadian, passed away at the Worley hospital in Pampa on April 21, 1947.

The girl had spent the weekend with her brother, Albert, a Pampa fire captain, and his wife, who had taken her to the depot.

She was standing between tracks 1 and 2 at the depot when a west-bound freight on track 1 struck her, inflicting severe head injuries. She was rushed to the hospital but never regained consciousness.

She had flung her coat over her shoulders, in the manner of girls today, and had purchased her ticket and was waiting her turn to enter the passenger train, according to the reports, when the suction from the passing freight is thought to have caught her coat and puller her back agains the moving train on the other track.

Johnney FULLER was born in Clarksville, Texas on April 26, 1926. She moved to Canadian with her parents and brothers and sisters in 1930, living here until her untimely death.

Johnney was a devoted daughter, a loving sister, and made many friends at school, which she attended until forced to quit because of ill health.

She had been employed in the Killarney cafe here. About two months ago, she was injured in an automobile accident in Oklahoma and was bedfast for a time.

Johnney enjoyed going to church and she loved to sing. She was blessed with a lovely voice. She would have been 21 years old next Saturday.

Left to mourn her death besides her parents, are seven brothers, Hulon, William, Raymond and O’Donnel FULLER, of Canadian, Albert and Marion FULLER of Pampa, and Elmer Lee FULLER, of Aspermont, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer GARRISON, of Canadian, and Mrs. Kinthloe PERRY, of Marietta, Oklahoma; one grandparent, Mrs. Elizabeth CHESSHIRE, of Annona, Texas; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church in Canadian following which burial was made in the Canadian cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie Morris, pastor of the Pentecostal church of Canadian, conducted the funeral services.
