Mrs. Ruth West Murray, age 93, a resident of Kennedale, Texas, formerly of Foreman, Arkansas, died peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, January 28th, 2024, at Crestview Court in Cedar Hill, Texas.

She was born June 19th, 1930, in Little River County, Arkansas. She was a Christian and enjoyed music and country Gospel. Ruth was also a schoolteacher for over forty-four years and taught school in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. She loved reading and teaching others to read.

Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Clarence and Rilla LeFevers West, her husband, Raymond Roy Murray, her sister Virginia Faye West Holley and Lamar, and niece Patricia Lynn Hail.

She is survived by her nieces Brenda Gail Wicks and husband Gary of Mansfield, TX., Cindy Leigh Anderson of Kennedale, TX., Great nieces and nephews, Erik McCullough of Norman, OK., Wesley Taylor and wife Robin of Everman, TX., Alexis Hail Hammond and husband Carter of Thompson Station, TN., Ashleigh Taylor Thomas and Jermi of Garland, TX., and many great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews that loved her.

A private service was held at Dennison Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
