Chester and Theresa married on January 21, 1950. Theresa died on October 14, 1982. Chester remarried Anita Mills Miller. After Nita died she was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas. When Chester died he was cremated and half of his ashes are buried here with Theresa and the other half buried with Nita.




Kitchens, Chester Olan 82, passed away on August 14, 2009 in his Grand Prairie home. Chester was born on August 20, 1926 in Bardwell, TX. to Olan Anson & Clara Myrtle (Slocum) Kitchens. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving in World War II. He was a survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima, and a Purple Heart recipient. He had been an active volunteer for the American Legion Post 0453 and the Marine Corps Legion. Chester had been a resident of Irving since 1967 where he had been a deacon at So. MacArthur Church of Christ. He was a realtor for Nita Miller Red Carpet Real Estate for many years and had served as President of the Irving Board of Realtors. Chester is a former member of the Irving AMBUCS. He was preceded in death by his wives, Theresa Lou Kitchens and Anita Miller Kitchens. He is survived by his two sons, Bruce Kitchens and wife, Debra of Irving, J. Lynn Kitchens and wife, JoE llen of Athens, TX., two grandsons, Brent Michael Kitchens and wife Emery of The Woodlands, TX., and Blake Evan Kitchens and wife Holly of Abilene, TX., two great grandchildren, Adley Kitchens and Grant Kitchens of The Woodlands, TX., and one brother, Harvey Kitchens of Cross Roads, TX. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at So. MacArthur Church of Christ, 1401 S. MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX. 75060.
