Mr. William Wesley Connell, age 69, 17 Spring Circle, Lindale, passed away Friday afternoon, December 14, 2007, in a local hospital.
Mr. Connell was born in Floyd County on November 21, 1938, son of the former Virginia Dougherty and the late W.E. (Dick) Connell, who preceded him in death on February 14, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Nellie Alice Wallis on April 1,2003. Mr. Connell retired from Delta Airlines following over 10 years of employment. He was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Virginia Connell, Lindale;2 special cousins, Don Connell, and his wife Connie, Statesboro, and Jimmie Jo Long, and her husband Gary,Rome;other cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4pm at the graveside in East View Cemetery, Brother Dan Bolt will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 2:30pm until the procession leaves for the graveside service at approximately 3:30pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home Sunday at 3pm and include:Jack Pence, Bill Pence, Jack Ozment, Jerry Bolton, Steve Gumina, Sonny Mathis, and Don Haynes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Atlanta/North Georgia Office, Three Corporate Square, Suite 120, Atlanta, Georgia 30329.
