"Walter Charles Jennings, 53, 2202 Herman avenue, died yesterday afternoon at a local hospital. A native of Decatur County, Iowa, he had lived in St Joseph nine years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zelma Jennings of the home; five sons, Homer R. Jennings of Halls, and Max, Willis, Carl and Thomas Jennings, all of St Joseph; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Madden of Bern, Kan., Mrs. Betty Jane Engle of St Joseph, and the Misses Zelma Ann, Sarah and Opal Mae Jennings, all of the home; five sisters, Mrs. Iva Emirch, living in Florida, Mrs. Jesse Brown of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Effie Cogdill of St Joseph, and Mrs. Aletha Ketchum and Mrs. Cora Arnold, both of Stanberry, Mo.; two brothers, Delbert and Marion Jennings, both of St Joseph; and two grandchildren." "Funeral services for Walter C. Jennings will be conducted at 3 this afternoon in the Barry chapel. The Rev. K. L. Claycomb will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mr. Jennings, 53 years old, died Tuesday afternoon at a local hospital." St Joseph Gazette, July 26, 1951
