Cecil H. Pierce, sixty-seven of 78 Clay, North East, died Thursday at Hamot Hospital after a short illness. Born in Harborcreek, he was the son of Thorn and Minnie (Muklin?) Pierce. He lived in Erie County all his life. Mr. Pierce was an employee of the Electric Materials Co. of North East for 25 years and retired in 1964. He is survived by two brothers, Elton L. Pierce of Erie, and Leonard L. Pierce of North East; a niece, Mrs. Clarence R. (Betty) Cook of Harborcreek, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the John Marks Funeral Home in North East from 20 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral services Saturday at 9 a.m. with Rev. Richard Hampton, pastor of the Greenfield Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in North East Cemetery. Source: Erie Daily Times, Friday July 19, 1968.
