Leonard Lloyd Pierce, 79, 8707 Williams Road, North East, died Thursday at Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Greenfield Township, November 30, 1898, the son of the late Thorn and Minnie Pierce. He retired from General Electric after 40 years of service in 1963, and was an active member of Greenfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie DeEtte (Dougan) Pierce; a son, Lloyd Pierce; two brothers, Leon and Cecil Pierce; a sister, Mary Beerbower; and a granddaughter Sandra Pierce Fox. He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Pierce and Mrs. Carl (Jeanette) Bemis, both of North East; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Paul LeVan of the Greenfield Baptist Church officiating.
