Juanita V. (Halford) Avery, born on March 10, 1917 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2010 in Visalia, CA at the age of 93 years.
Juanita grew up in Oklahoma. It was there where she met and married Joe Avery. The couple moved to California in 1938 settling in Tulare.
Later they moved to Visalia in 1950 . She was a Homemaker and a member of the Visalia First Assembly since 1950.
In later years, due to her health she was unable to attend.
Survivors include her son, Donald Avery, Visalia;
Daughter Carole (Richard) Stern, Visalia; granddaughter, Christie (Nick) Tyler, Visalia, 1 great-granddaughter, Kaylee Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joe Avery; 5 brothers and 2 sisters; and 1 great-grandson, Preston Tyler.
Graveside Services are being held at the Pavilion inside the Visalia District Cemetery on Monday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be at Miller Memorial Chapel on Sunday 2-7 p.m.
