Moses Ham was married twice:
(1) Hellen M. Tucker (Children: Clifford D. Ham, Hellen Ham)
(2) Rebecca Wells
He was born in York county, Maine, and then lived for a time in Michigan, where he served as editor of the Detroit Free Press. In 1863, he moved to Dubuque, where he became publisher of the Dubuque Herald. In 1877 he was elected state senator for Dubuque County. Starting in 1885, he served as postmaster of the City of Dubuque. In May 1888, Mr. Ham was appointed regent of the State University for a term of six years.
