Clara R. Morris, Newton, died Thursday, October 24, 1991, at the Newton Medical Center. She was 86.
Miss Morris was a former school teacher and librarian. She had lived in Newton since 1974.
She was born Dec. 9, 1904, in Yates Center, the daughter of George and Polly Gillette Morris. She was graduated from Emporia State University.
She was a member of the First United Methodist church in Newton, the Newton Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Survivors include a nephew, Stan Morris, Yates Center, and a niece, Charlene Johnson, Kansas City, Kan.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Peterson Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. The Rev. Dan Waters will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Yates Center Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church, 801 N. Main, Newton, 67114.
