SPILLANE, Phyllis M. - Age 80, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, September 16, 2010. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Rev. Dr. J.D. Landis officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Swartz Creek Fine Arts Association, P.O. Box 98, Swartz Creek, MI 48473. Phyllis was born August 7, 1930 in Detroit, the daughter of Jesse and Ruth (Prindle) Dowell. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1946 and was a 1947 graduate of Mary Crapo. Phyllis married Donald Spillane on May 19, 1951. She was a charter member of Swartz Creek Kiwanis Auxiliary, co-founder and member of Swartz Creek Area AlAnon, member of Flint Banjo Club Auxiliary and a descendant of the Redford Pioneers. Surviving are: three sons, Thomas Spillane and wife, Pam, Michael Spillane and wife, Lyla, David Spillane and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Benjamin, Jeremy, Scott, Mitchell, Meagen, Ryan and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Riley; sister, Nanette and husband, Donald Binns; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2004; her parents; three sisters, Barbara Hilden, Beverly Dowell and Nancy Weller.
