John Albert Baker was born July 7, 1886 in Paris, Texas to James R. Baker and Margaret E. White. He had two older sisters, Dora Bell and Annie, and 4 younger siblings, Charlie Henry, Bertha Mae, James Smith and Bessie Baker. He would lose his mother around 1902 and his father would remarry on August 17, 1910 to Nora E. Goodwin. Albert, as he was called, would marry Emma Ruth Bratcher on September 25,1910. Albert was 24 and Emma was 17, although she said she was 18 according to the marriage record. Albert and Emma would have two girls together, Iva Mae Baker born in 1912 and Verna Ruth Baker born in 1927. Albert was a farmer and lived in Red Colony, Sevier County, Arkansas most of his life. He would lose his wife on July 31, 1952 and would lay her to rest in Kingree Cemetery located just east of Lockesburg, Arkansas. Albert would live another 13 years before joining his wife at Kingree on April 9, 1965.
