Recipient of two Purple Hearts
Received one Purple Heart after having his helmet knocked off in a shallow fox hole. A bullet entered the left side of his helmet and grazed across his forehead before exiting out the right side of the helmet.

Adam Sarley
Dallas- Adam Sarley, 68, of Dallas, died on Tuesday.
He was born in Edison, Kan., and was employed as a hospital plant supervisor in Los Angeles before moving to Dallas in 1981. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Steve, Gardena, Calif., and Mike, Los Angeles; daughters, Betty Lou Holmes, Monmouth, and Connie Berreth, Las Vegas, Nev.; and sister, Julie Hill, Chino, Calif.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Dallas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dallas mortuary. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
