The Sacramento Bee recorded the following obituary on April 13, 2004, provided here by her family with some portions involvling names of the living omitted.

Maude A. Baldwin Schillinger
Beloved mother of Pamela (David) and the late Howard A. Baldwin Jr. Loving grandmother of two, all of Buffalo, N.Y. Born in East Orange, N.J. to Flora May (Hopple) and Clarence Emery Rogers, she passed away at home in the arms of her daughter on April 10, 2004. She earned a degree in social work from N.Y. University and master's from Hartford Seminary, and worked as a social worker in N.Y.C. until her marriage to Howard A. Baldwin in 1945 in New Jersey.
After his death she worked for Bakelite and Hoffmann la Roche to support her two small children. She moved to California upon her marriage to the late Arthur E. Schillinger and lived in Fair Oaks, Carmichael, and Citrus Heights for almost 50 years. Her teenage son Howard Adams Baldwin died in a tragic accident. A state of California employee, Maude worked at the Capitol for Bldgs. and Grounds Finance Dept., Highways, and the Dept. of Justice. After her retirement, she was an active senior, making daily calls to the elderly, making sure that "her ladies" had something special for birthdays and holidays. She volunteered at St. Pauls Center and transcribed books into Braille for the blind. A lifetime animal lover and advocate, she was involved in rescue work. She said it was never too later to learn something new and learned to milk goats at age 65. A city girl, she kept sheep and goats, and a gaggle of geese on her Carmichael property. She raised Cocker Spaniels, and later exotic birds. She enjoyed gardening, writing classes, and keeping up with the latest medical advances from Tufts and Harvard. She was a lifetime member of the Capitol City Bird Society and a member of the San Juan Chapter #563 Order of the Eastern Star for over 30 years. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to pass along a small kindness to a person or animal in need for "Miss Maude."

When I reach Heaven
and the face of God I see,
Be assured of joyous barks
and wagging tails
Awaiting there for me.
