LYONS - Roscoe E. Ricketts, 73, died June 17, 1984, at the Halstead Hospital, Halstead, after a short illness. Born Nov. 12, 1910, at Vernon, he married Lydia Ellen Smith June 8, 1930, at Crandel. She died Feb. 28, 1979. He then married Teresa Pollard, Nov. 3, 1981, at Lyons. He was an oil field pumper for the Continental Oil Co. and had been a Rice County resident since 1943.
He was. a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, of the home; son, Eugene, Little River; daughters, Norma Owings, Unionville, Mo.; Winona Soler, Pearl River, La.; Gaye Dyke, Little River; brother, Max Ricketts, St. Louis; sisters, Hazel Yoho, Oberlin; Jenny Chambers, Paola; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons; the Rev. Mendle Adams. Burial will be at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Lyons District Hospital.
