Kathleen (Matchett) Little, 89, of Newburyport and formerly of Boxford died Friday, Sept 17, 2010, at the Sea view Retreat in Rowley. Mrs. Little was born in Beverly, the daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha (Merricks) Matchett. She was a longtime Boxford resident and was a member of the Ladies Charitable at the Second Congregational Church in West Boxford, the Grange in West Boxford, a Past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Topsfield and a former member of the First Church Congregational where she and her husband started the "Couples Club". She also worked at Nason's Stone House Catering and was a playground attendant at the Cole school and a lunch lady at the Spofford School. During World War II while her husband was serving in the 101st Airborne, Mrs. Little gave to her country by volunteering her time and talents. She was an avid gardener and loved to bake, cook, quilt and bird watching. She is survived by her loving husband Ernest W. Little of Newburyport and formerly of Boxford, daughters Judith Eisenberg and her husband Robert of Boxford, Susan Tidd and her companion Stephen Higgins of West Newbury, and Deborah MacAuley and her companion William Ake of Boxford, grandchildren Robin Bigley and her husband Gary, Aimee Stidsen and her husband David, Lisa E. Tidd, Adam B. Tidd, Lindsay P. MacAuley and her husband Mark Friedberg and Alec. E. MacAuley as well as great grandchildren Ryan and Andrew Bigley and William and Bennett Stidsen.
