Josephine J. Bean

Josephine Jacobs Bean, 87, of Rt. 3, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Wednesday, September 11, 1985 at the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Bean was born Nov. 30, 1897, in Winchester, Va. the daughter of Lewis and Alice Crismore-Jacobs. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bean.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Stotler of Berkeley Springs: three sons, Dale Bean of Hagerstown, Md.; Duane Bean and Glen Bean, both of Las Vegas, Nev., a sister, Elizabeth Sargent of White Post, Va., 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. A son, Coleman Bean, and brother are deceased.

Services were held Saturday, September 14, at 1 p.m. at the Oakland United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. Michael Bequeath and the Rev. Ed Allen officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

Friends were received at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
