Funeral Services for Michael Payne Brady will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rev. Lee Taylor and Rev. John Rayburn officiating. Interment will be in Lecompte Cemetery, Lecompte.

Mr. Brady, age 57, entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at a local hospital.

He was a native of Lecompte, born August 6, 1953 at Hair and Carlton Clinic. He was self-employed as a Cross Country Truck Driver until 1990 when he became employed by the Rapides Parish Highway Department. He also worked at Rapides Regional Medical Center for several years. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, NASCAR, Drag Racing, and working in his yard. He set a high standard for himself on keeping his yard perfect. You could see him anytime on his tractor mowing and raking. Mr. Brady also spent his time on the computer staying in touch with his class of 1971 when he graduated from Rapides High School. He was looking forward to the upcoming class reunion.

Mr. Brady was preceded in death by his father, Walter A. Brady, Jr.; grandparents, Otis H. Payne, Sr. and Mamie Payne and Walter and Grace Brady, all of Lecompte.

Michael Brady is survived by his wife, Wanda Welch Brady; mother, Virginia Payne Brady; brother, Allen Brady and wife Pattie all of Lecompte; two stepsons, Terry and Danny of Denham Springs; three step-grandsons and three step-granddaughters; two nephews, Paul and Shane of Lecompte and three great-nieces. He is also survived by his best feline friend, Felix/Pooh.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at John Kramer & Son.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be: Gilbert Johnson, Gilly Johnson, Allen Brady, George Payne, Sr., George Payne, Jr., Shane Brady, Paul Weathersby and Danny Grayson.
