He was a member of the Junior year class that was expelled in its entirety (Richmond Times Dispatch Feb 28, 1911) and later re-admitted. He graduated in 1914 with a BS in Chemistry and a commission as an officer in the US Army. During WW I he served as Liason Officer and Aide to Brigadier General Frederick Perkins.
His life's occupation was primarily in sales, banking and investments in Ohio, France, Connecticut and New York.
He married Mary Alice Corey and they had children Faye and Edward. He later married Myrtle Aberdeen (Patricia) Preston and their children were Preston, Byron Jr. and Dianna.
His obituary notices were published in the Albany Times Union in June and July 1963.
