ANDREW JACKSON STONE

Andrew J. Stone, 84, of Tad passed away Jan. 27, 2002, after a short illness. He was a retired coal miner, having worked for Dixport Coal Company, Amherst Coal, Carbon Fuel and B Branch Coal. He was a member of UMWA.

He is survived by wife, Myrtle Flowers Stone; daughter, Tammy Stone of Tad; daughter-in-law, Donna Murphy of Tad; grandchildren, Michael Cottrell, Trenda Armstrong and Darrell Townsend; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Daisy Johnson and Patsy Taylor; nephews, Harlan, Junior and Paul Flowers; several other nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Fred Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery, Tad.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
